Minecraft server setup windows 1012/20/2023 ![]() Here I see turnkey actually provides both, same as 'mineos' too provides both. It was my understanding that turnkey provides a stripped down kernel and minimal firmware packages and provides support *only* for vmware/virtualbox/xen/kvm. And since most non-source distros ship with a fully-loaded kernel, it would work even if it was a virtual machine image. And you can still install a hard disk image as a hard disk image, as long as the kernel of the installed operating system is compiled for that hardware. It is not a virtual machine image.Įdit: And even if it was a virtual machine image, what do you think a VMImage is? It is a hard disk image combined with the virtual machine config files. Now run java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar, and press enter. Alternatively, you can open the specific folder, right-click, and select Open in Terminal to have it directly point towards that directory. It is just Debian Linux with packages pre-installed. Open the terminal and use the cd command to navigate to the Minecraft folder. I would go ahead and use 64bit OS in case you plan to upgrade to 4+GB ram If you find performance bottleneck then upgrade appropriately. OP go ahead and try with your current hardware. Mineos is a turnkey Linux distro, is for a virtual machine. ![]()
